So here comes the basic and the information from the scratch of what is meant by carnatic music. Music as an individualistic component has become a part and parcel of one's life. And when carnatic music is defined, refers to the music that is been associated with the southern parts of India giving a pride and heritage to the four states Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. Many scholars and many noble persons have dedicated themselves for this lovely traditional music. Even today, right from small cd or music shops to the great music showrooms the golden voice of M.S. Amma is alive.

The father of Carnatic music is Swami Purandara Dasa who was the perfectionist in formulating the basics of teaching Carnatic music. His original name was Srinivasa. Born to a wealthy merchant, a good education with well acquired proficiency in kannada, sanskrit and in music.
